Phuket - Climate
Seasons
The seasons on Phuket can be divides into four different ones, but worth noting is that they are not anywhere near as distinguished as ours. The four different seasons are called:
- The dry season from December to March
- The hot season from April to May
- The rainy season from June to October
- The cool season from October to November
The hot and the cool seasons are quite unpredictable and don’t necessarily follow their patterns. Both include quite a bit of rain even though the hot season sometimes shows up without much water. The most popular time to visit Phuket is during the dry season which falls while we have our winter (how suitable!). The tourist season peaks around Christmas time.
The Monsoon
The rainy season, also called the Monsoon, usually starts in June and lasts until October. Strong winds bring hot, humid air over the Indian Ocean and upon arrival the air turns to rain. The Monsoon is hot, humid and wet and definitely the least attractive period to visit Phuket.
Temperatures
Phuket is hot all year around and during our winter the Phuket average temperatures range between 26-28 C. The coolest month is January and the hottest month is April.
